R5 Play Coach Code of Conduct 📋

Relevant for: Event Staff, Volunteers

Coaches are the heartbeat of R5 Play. Your example shapes the culture of every program. We expect every coach, staff member, and volunteer to uphold these standards — always, not just when someone is watching.

Core Expectations

• Respect every athlete — regardless of skill, age, background, or ability
• Use encouraging language — no yelling, belittling, or sarcasm
• Maintain professional boundaries — no 1-on-1 situations with minors without another adult present
• Be punctual and prepared — arrive before your athletes
• Stay sober — no alcohol or substances before or during programs

Ethics and Integrity

• Do not accept gifts or favors from athletes or families
• Do not engage in any form of favoritism
• Disclose any conflict of interest to your program director

Reporting Obligations

1. Ensure immediate physical safety first
2. Report to the R5 Play program director within 24 hours
3. Document what you witnessed in writing
4. Do not investigate on your own — that's our job

Violation of this Code may result in suspension or permanent removal. Our athletes deserve nothing less. ✊
